Privacy Policy

1. Who this applies to

This policy describes how the NIAVI app (“NIAVI”, “we”, “us”) handles your information on iPhone and Apple Watch. By using NIAVI you agree to this policy.

2. What NIAVI stores — and where

Everything you record in NIAVI is stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device database. It is not uploaded to us or to any third party.

• Self-reported entries — mood check-ins, energy ratings, interactions, locations you choose to add, and any notes you write.
• Apple Health signals (only with your permission) — heart rate, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, steps, active energy, and sleep. These are read from Apple Health and used on your device to shape your daily score and trends. They are never transmitted off your device.
• Calendar (only with your permission) — NIAVI reads the titles and times of upcoming events to prepare pre-meeting briefings. This is processed on your device and is not stored beyond what’s needed to show the briefing, and never transmitted.
• Location (only when you add one) — if you tap “Pin a location”, the chosen place name and coordinates are saved locally with that entry so it can appear on your private Location map. NIAVI does not track your location in the background.

3. Apple Health — read and write

On iPhone, NIAVI only reads from Apple Health. On Apple Watch, while a “moment” is active, NIAVI records a workout session in Apple Health — this is the mechanism that lets the watch measure your heart rate during the moment. That workout stays in your Apple Health and is never shared with us or anyone else. You can revoke Health access at any time in iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → NIAVI.

3a. Fuel Scan photos (Premium, optional)

If you use the optional Fuel Scan feature, the photo you take or choose is sent — resized and over an encrypted connection — to our processing service, which asks an AI vision model to describe the meal or drink. The photo is used only to answer that one request: it is not saved on our service, not linked to you (the request carries no account, name, or identifier), and not used to train models by us. The recognition result (for example, “cheese pie — hearty”) is stored only locally on your device as part of your fuel note. If you never use Fuel Scan, no photo ever leaves your device.

4. What NIAVI does NOT do

• No user accounts and no sign-in.
• No analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs.
• No selling, renting, or sharing of your data.
• No background location tracking.
• No transmission of your health, calendar, location, or journal data off your device.

5. Notifications

If you enable pre-meeting alerts, NIAVI schedules local notifications on your device. They are generated on-device from your own data; no notification content is sent to a server.

6. Your control

• Revoke Health, Calendar, Location, or Notification permissions any time in iOS Settings.
• Delete all of your NIAVI data in the app: Settings → “Clear local data”.
• Deleting the app removes all locally stored NIAVI data from the device.

7. Subscriptions

If NIAVI offers a paid subscription, billing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. Apple’s privacy policy governs that transaction.

8. Children

NIAVI is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Not a medical service

NIAVI is a wellness companion. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any medical condition. Its insights are based on your personal patterns and self-reported data and are not a substitute for professional advice.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as NIAVI evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
